Dafi Kühne

Dafi Kühne is a Swiss designer who works with analogue and digital techniques to produce fresh and unique letterpress-printed posters. Over the past decade, Dafi salvaged more than 30 tons of redundant letterpress printing equipment that he is now using to design and produce his work. Fusing modern means with the century-old tradition of letterpress, he forms a new vocabulary for how to communicate through type and form in a truly contemporary way. Never retro, his work is a clever response to the search for new possibilities of graphic expression.

Lecture: «True Print».

Dafi Kühne talks about his process of making typographic posters with redundant analog printing technology. Showing the poster results of tedious manual work that look refreshingly un-analog. Technical restriction as a booster of creativity.
